The essence of life
Can we “track down the
essence of a single gnat?.” The great St Thomas Aquinas said we
cannot. But we can.
The essence of life is
the drive or activation within life for growth, reproduction, and
continual change in material evolution, which has the capacity to
evolve in material world to Godhood, working with the ups and downs
of outside natural selection and evolution.
Nothing is eternal, but
Godhood can become bordering on eternal if life can manage to evolve
that far.
The evolution of life
strives for ascending levels of perfection leading toward Godhood,
which is also a striving for success in survival and reproduction.
That material activation within life which directs life to live and evolve toward the perfection and success of
supermaterial Godhood is the essence of life.
