Theological materialism transforms the deepest ends of both religion and science

Two great minds, German Catholic philosopher Josef Pieper (1904 –1997) and living sociobiologist E. O. Wilson were brilliant in elucidating their means but middling in perceiving their ends. Theological materialism transforms the deepest ends of both religion and science.

Ideas are expressions of the biological origin of human social behavior related to whatever field the ideas are presenting. This includes the ideas of religion, philosophy, politics, art, etc, which usually define the moral superiority of their causes. Ideas often mask the will to life of biology. But the idea of the biological origin of social behavior obviously does does not mask the biological origin of social behavior.

We can indeed immanentize the eschaton, attain Godhood directly within nature and evolution, when we affirm that evolution moves inevitably in a pattern, even though it has its random elements, and the pattern has a discernible direction, in spite of instances of stagnation and retreat, toward higher and higher more effective living forms, all the way to ascending levels of Godhood.

Homo mendacem rather than Homo sapien

I know that social niceties, little polite lies, oil the machinery of human social life, but political correctness (cultural Marxism) and “wokeness” have taken the social lies to the point where honesty reemerges, which may be why we now see populist nationalism and identity politics (ethnocentrism) reemerging.

It might be less charitable but more accurate to call Homo sapiens lying man, Homo mendacem, rather than wise man.

The deep phoniness of modern liberalism and the deep phoniness of liberals begins and ends with their ignorance or denial of the biological origin of human social behavior and real human nature, which gives the lie to their entire worldview and makes their social persona a ridiculous act.

The biological origin of our social behavior, as empirically explained by the evolutionary sciences and sociobiology actually ends the intellectual defense of modern liberalism and postmodern relativism, but phony modern liberalism and phony liberals, busy with their woke act of calling everything about real human nature evil, still don't know it because they have been thoroughly brainwashed in our schools and by the media.

Human nature has been affirmed throughout human history to this day as being universally kin-centered, gender defined, age-graded, heterosexual marriage-making, hierarchical, ethnocentric, even xenophobic, among other conservative things, with group-selection as the primary unit of successful selection followed by individual selection. As long as we are alive every cell in our body demands survival and reproductive success. This natural activation can be blocked, subverted, or it can be unknown to us, but it can't legitimately be intellectually or instinctively denied.

This strongly suggests that if real kin and ethnic-centered human nature is allowed to be what it is, it would naturally lead to regionalism, localism, eventually ethnostates, general conservative values, and finally an ethnopluralism of ethnostates. For example, in the U. S. this could be accomplished not by way of radical revolution but through adapting---not overturning---the U.S. constitutional separation of powers and states, and then protecting the ethnostates from marauding imperialists, supremacists, and global money grubbers, with a defensive federalism.

But will the smugness and deep phoniness of modern liberals be moved toward a reemergence of honesty? Maybe not. In any case populist nationalism and identity politics are reemerging.

The increasingly obvious solution to the diversity of bio-cultural identities in the world

Traditional conservatives point out the sequence in which economic problems run into the political problems which run into philosophical problems which then run into religious and moral problems. But they leave out the first and last biological origin of social behavior from which economic, political, philosophical and religious problems arise. Naturalism has scared conservatives at least since the time Francis Bacon, but it should not.

The supreme naturalist of today, Edward O. Wilson has said: "The genes hold culture on a leash. The leash is very long, but inevitably values will be constrained in accordance with their effects on the human gene pool. The brain is a product of evolution. Human behavior. . .is the circuitous technique by which human genetic material has been and will be kept intact. Morality has no other demonstrable ultimate function." (comment--I believe the activation of the genes do seek the survival and reproductive supreme success of evolving to ascending levels of Godhood but that's a moral function and end that Wilson probably doesn't affirm because he probably believes in the complete randomness of evolution regarding any kind of direction to evolution.)

This might doom modern liberalism, which is really cultural Marxism, but it does not doom conservatism because the process of the biological origin of social behavior evolved a human nature that in many ways affirms conservatism. Human nature remains genetically and biologically kin-centered, gender defined, age-graded, heterosexual, marriage-making, hierarchical, ethnocentric, even xenophobic, and religious-making, among other things, with group-selection as the primary unit of successful selection. So race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation tend to eventually conform to the human nature reflected in conservatism and identity politics.

The increasingly obvious solution to the diversity of bio-cultural identities in the world, each with its own natural urge to perpetuate itself and establish its own culture, is not to try to jam everyone together in the same territory or to demand a creed of equality or multiculturalism, but to establish ethnostates for all distinctive groups and then protect them from marauding imperialists, supremacists, and global money grubbers, with a defensive federalism. For example, an ethnopluralism of ethnostates or regions could be established, legally, conservatively, in the United States adapted from our constitutional separation of powers and states.

How Religion Can Do All (from 2013)

It seems to me that Nietzsche first tried to destroy religion then spent the rest of his life trying to recreate religion. This is what modern philosophy, art, and even politics tries to do.

Modern philosophy and art might insist that religion is a form of art, but it is art that is a form of religion. Like religion, philosophy and art simplify the great struggles of life, or as Nietzsche put it, (“Wagner In Bayreuth”) art produces a shorter solution to the riddle of existence.

Good art does not really instruct or offer direct action, it gives aesthetic feelings which only indirectly instruct, or as I put it, affirm the sacred. But religion can do it all, with rituals, music, philosophy, art, as well as direct instruction.

Political philosophy often tries to be all things to all people but usually leaves out religious roots and goals, which is why it doesn't last very long.

In the past, religion included all the best scientific knowledge of the day, but it has not done so well in modern times. Religion should be deep enough and wise enough to include ongoing science, as it should philosophy, art, and political considerations. The theological materialism of the Twofold Path in the religious philosophy of the projected Theoevolutionary Church seeks this synthesis.

As we drift out here in the immense cosmos, along with all the problems on our planet; our evolution to Godhood helps us affirm the sacred.

Toward a sacred totality

Tirips, or the material activation within life to live and evolve exists in every cell of the body and is the will to live and evolve to Godhood and reach the zenith of survival and reproductive success. Tirips or the will to live and evolve is not from God and is not God itself, it is the sacred material activation to Godhood and it works along with the outside forces of natural selection and the ups and downs of evolution. We materially evolve to ascending levels of Godhood, we become Gods; there is no non-material spiritual God.

Those who believe in the complete randomness of evolution, the vast majority of scientists, often make dismissive comments regarding any kind of direction to evolution, usually in footnotes to show its unimportance to the text, but then the footnote’s are often emotional and long, protesting too much. I find the arguments that evolution is non-purposive and random almost as closed as the religious arguments denying evolution.

Evolution moves inevitably in a pattern, even though it has its random elements, and the pattern has a discernible direction, in spite of instances of stagnation and retreat, toward higher and higher more effective living forms.

The evolution to Godhood can redeem material life and evolution, which has been demeaned and cast out in the great spiritual blockade of traditional religions. The sacred activation to evolve to real Godhood can proceed and join estranged religion and science together with a synthesis of the arts in a sacred totality more comprehensive than the Greek tragedies of Aeschylus.

Making peace in the evolutionary outward path

The dark irony of the Christians, the Revealed Religions, and the Kabbalistic and Secret Societies, is that they are not seeking separate goals. They seek the same Soul-Mind within the Involutionary Inward Path, although they have different methods to attain that end.

Even the Kabbalah joins their two paths in the Sephirot to the Unnamed Inward God, which is not nearly enough since it blocks the material evolution to real Godhood. The Masonic and Thelemic wings and the New Age are just “new” religions based on the old traditional Involutionary Inward Path.

Blavatsky claimed to unite the eastern and western occult traditions but she too tried to unite only the Inward Paths, and that was not nearly enough. Dugin's present Russian Eurasianism could be at least tangentially connected to the traditionalist occult of Shambhala, and the West tangentially connected to the Atlantis-Kabbalah occult, but both compete for the same truncated Inward God.

Theological materialism does not join the endless feuds between the Involutionary Religions. Theological materialism asks the Involutionary Religions to see and acknowledge their togetherness regarding the inward path so that ecumenism can prevail between them. Then let the Evolutionary Outward Path affirm and create the separate evolutionary development of all distinct people in the Evolutionary Outward Path of material evolution to real supermaterial Godhood, availing themselves of international evolutionary sociobiological research centers, as suggested by Cattell.

The affirmation of the sacred in evolutionary art (from 2013)

In an essay on the various views of art regarding nature, Peter Kellow points out that Roger Scruton suggests our attitude toward art is not much different from our attitude toward natural beauty, but Kellow says that Kant saw a difference in that art is a presentation of a beautiful thing whereas natural beauty is a beautiful thing.

I think serious or high art has always been an affirmation of the things that we have held sacred, which included religion, nature and human beauty, unserious or bad art did not affirm the sacred. But popular art or low art often still included a portrayal of the sacred or high art but with less sophistication. The highest art affirmed Godhood, which was valued higher than nature or human beings although these things were included in the overall affirmation of the sacred.

Much depends on how we define God or Godhood. When Godhood is defined as the supreme life we evolve to in nature, then nature and human beings, and future species, become a vital part of the sacred path to Godhood, and the subject of art---the beings evolving to Godhood in nature, and nature from which they evolve out of, are nearly as sacred in art as the Godhood they are evolving to.

I think evolutionary realism is the form of art that can best affirm this view of the sacred, although the artists can feel free to create anyway and anything they want to, knowing sacred art is the ideal art which gets the commissions. Definitions of human beauty relate to Godhood as the zenith of beauty, and so perhaps the ancient Greeks were on the right track in their idealized realistic art creations of the Gods. Modern art forms have been mainly devoid of the sacred, or they hold individual hedonistic expression as “sacred,” and reaching a social audience has not been a concern of theirs, they tend to communicate only with each other or with critics hip to their experimentations, as Tom Wolfe wrote about so well.

Why I prefer the term naturalism to humanism

People like Irving Babbitt defended “humanism,” his version of morality against “naturalistic assumptions” and “gross naturalism,” always talking about the “dualism” of the spiritual and the material, always sure to point out the sentimentality and brutishness of the senses, and being sure to point out the doctrine of original sin, and this all done to maintain his version of the proper order.

First of all, Babbitt's kind of conservatism greatly demeans an underestimates naturalism, especially if you believe as I do that natural evolution leads toward Godhood. And secondly, there is no duality between the spiritual and the material because there is no spiritual, there is only the material evolving to the supermaterial.

This religious transformation, like evolution itself, can retain and conserve the best of past religions---the Inward Path to the God within of traditional religions is transformed in the Outward Path of material evolution to real Godhood. This transformation becomes easier to absorb when ascending levels of Godhood are seen as arrived at by way of material, not spiritual, evolution, as described in theological materialism.

And as to the belief in free will, a naturalistic direction or goal to the will means that we don't have a completely free will, we have free will limited to choices within the determined path of life and evolution, like a boulder rolling down a mountain. We evolve toward more efficient forms, more complex forms, with starts and stops and backward goings along the way, heading toward ascending levels of Godhood at the zenith of evolution.

That's why I prefer the term naturalism to humanism.

The nonexistent duality between the material and spiritual

The revealed religions developed the great spiritual blockade of material evolution to real Godhood. St. Thomas Aquinas said “God has created all men for beatitude, ” and “The last end of human life is beatitude,” which is the perfect act of seeing or feeling the divine being, an utmost state of bliss, not unlike Buddha advocating the non-material path to nirvana.

That highest ascetic goal of the revealed religions is to feel neither attachment or aversion to the world, which can bring liberation and beatitude, freeing the mind and body of all material desires; it is a high category of hypertrophied hedonism, and no easy task to accomplish.

Beatitude and nirvana are are not the goal of the Evolutionary Outward Path to real Godhood, they are the goal of the Involuntary Inward Path to the bliss of the Inward God or Father-Within, the Heaven-Within which Jesus Christ and Buddha sought and found.

But Godhood is not merely calculation, not meditation, not presence, not intuition, not deduction, and not the human experience of bliss. Godhood is a real supermaterial object, or objects, reached through material and supermaterial evolution. The highest act of life is not to have blissful intellectual intuition of God, it is to become Godhood in evolution.

Even so, the Twofold Path can conservatively retain or include the blissful intellectual intuition of God, seen in the Involutionary Inward Path to the Soul-Within. But we need not be blocked in a great spiritual blockade. We need to move on to the Evolutionary Outward Path, which is material and supermaterial evolution to ascending levels of real Godhood.

Can perfection be reached? No, just as perfection in evolution is never final, at least not until Godhood is attained, and even then evolution continues endlessly with ascending levels of Godhood, with no ending and no beginning.

This is not an evil or satanic view of Godhood, there is no Satan when there is no duality between the material and spiritual, calling it evil depends on a misinterpreted view of Godhood.

Can we reeducate the educated classes?

There has been an astonishing reversal or trans-valuation of the educated classes in America and the West, especially in the study of human society and culture, or the humanities. President Trump's “deplorables”---as the obnoxiously condescending Hillary Clinton called them---understand human society and culture far better than the so-called educated classes, whose belief in political correctness and cultural Marxism, which they learned in our colleges universities and in the media, is complete nonsense.

Across history and across the world human nature is biologically and genetically kin and ethnic centered, gender defined, age-graded, heterosexual, marriage-making, hierarchical, ethnocentric, territorial, and even xenophobic, and religious-making, among other conservative things, with group-selection as the primary unit of successful selection, followed by individual selection; this social behavior is the opposite of what our so-called educated classes believe.

President Trump could be even more political incorrect than he is in his pronouncements against postmodernism, Marxism, feminism, multiculturalism, LGBT activists etc etc. But would it reeducate the educated classes? I doubt it, the propaganda and brainwashing has been too deep.

Reason and common sense suggest that real human nature and the mostly biological origin of our social behavior lead naturally to regionalism, localism, and eventully to an ethnopluralism of ethnostates, protected by a defensive federalism. Given who we are this appears to be the best way all of us, all classes and ethnic groups, can optimize the gene expression we inherited from our human ancestors.

Real Being is lost in abstractions

Getting back to reality in religion and politics largely means rejecting or at least transforming old unreal abstractions. The abstractions of science, religion, and philosophy are only mirrors of real life and only secondary to real life, not the other way around. We have inherited a spiritual nothingness of abstractions from traditional religions, from Plato, and their followers, and even from science.

Modern liberalism is based on arguments derived mainly from the universalist egalitarian abstractions of the the French Revolution not on reality, conservatism is more real but its deepest arguments are based on the unreal abstractions of spiritual faith.

Abstractions and formulas are secondary to the real thing or the real object, which they should be describing. The universals and abstractions which many traditions are based on are hollow and don't really exist as actual material or supermaterial objects. Even the peak ascetic experiences are turned into hollow abstractions.

I see Heidegger's idea of Being as Time in line with that tendency of intellectuals to overlook the fact that the “names” of things are an abstraction which only point toward the reality of the thing named---the abstract name is not the thing-in-itself.

The history of religion and philosophy is the history of the oblivion of the real object. Given the oblivion of the real object in religion and philosophy it is no wonder that materialism rejected religion and much of philosophy. But in rejecting religion, materialism ended up with empty abstractions.

The real object has been lost in almost diabolical abstractions, which means that Real Being is lost in abstractions. Godhood, religion, truth, need not be lost when we bring our thinking back to real, evolving, material objects. Yes, we must use mathematical abstractions to technically run the world, but mathematics should not replace real objects or become an abstract religion.

We know that living objects exist in the world having evolved from the simple to the complex, and it is realistic to say, without abstraction, that a hierarchy of such living objects exist or can exist in the cosmos where ascending levels of Godhood dwell or can dwell, not as abstractions, but as real evolved supermaterial objects.

The charge of “racism” and “sexism” usually show a complete ignorance of human nature

The charge of “racism” and “sexism” usually show a complete ignorance of human nature. Stereotypes and gender roles and racial/ethic differences between peoples are said to be only social constructions, having nothing to do with biological differences between peoples. But the belief that one sex, gender, or race is intrinsically superior to another is also wrong, we are simply different from one another with different mainly biologically derived talents and abilities.

The biological origin of our social behavior as empirically explained by sociobiology actually ends the sham intellectual charge of racism and sexism. Across history and across the world human nature IS biologically and genetically kin and ethnic centered, gender defined, age-graded, heterosexual, marriage-making, hierarchical, ethnocentric, territorial, and even xenophobic, and religious-making, among other things, with group-selection as the primary unit of successful selection, followed by individual selection.

Real human nature can be blocked, subverted, or it can be unknown to us, but it can't legitimately be intellectually or instinctively denied. Cultures can operate for a time with behavior that goes against the biological origin of our social behavior, with such social experiments as postmodernism, Marxism, feminism, and multiculturalism, but the cultures are eventually pulled back by the biological and genetic leash of real human nature to cultures that better reflect real human nature.

Reason and common sense suggest that real human nature leads naturally to regionalism, localism, and eventully to an ethnopluralism of ethnostates, protected by a defensive federalism. Given who we are this appears to be the best way all of us can optimize the gene expression we inherited from our human ancestors.

The art impulse and the sacred totality of religion (from 2012)

We don't need duality in the art world any more than we do in theology or philosophy. With evolution the incomprehensible infinite of the Romantic becomes the clarity of the Classical. Beauty becomes truth and truth beauty. This is the goal affirmed in the art philosophy of Evolutionary Realism.

It is more than admiration for the infinite which causes our art passions to be exited, as Burke said (which Jung called the numinous mystery), it is more essentially the material Will-To-Godhood, or Tirips, the zenith of the instincts, that excites our passions, which can be fulfilled only in our material-supermaterial evolution to Godhood. Here the infinite becomes clarity, beauty becomes truth. This is also how we counter Kant and say that reality can be known and is a supermaterial object.

Certainly we are imperfect, as the Christians demand, but our evolution to Godhood can bring perfection, which means we should not permanently dwell on our imperfections seen only in the Involutionary Inward Path, it is in the Evolutionary Outward Path where we can reach perfection in ascending levels of Godhood.

There is a sacred totality here: we arrive at health by fusing self, society and Godhood with the Will or Tirips which activates life to evolve to Godhood. Evolutionary therapy, art, political philosophy, the sciences, etc., can fuse in this mission. In this holistic view religion is the way out of the problems seen in these now separated areas. It is perhaps this religious perspective that is the “total art work” that we have been searching for in the West since the Ancient Greeks, which art can only affirm.

If we never have another Shakespeare I would settle for less if we at least affirmed Darwinist sociobiology

I think we can say that Shakespeare believed in tradition, hierarchy, monarchy, and aristocracy, but Charles Darwin, another great Englishmen from the great British Isles, had not yet added his genius discovery of evolution. What would Shakespeare have done with Darwin? What would Darwin have done with the Neo-Darwinism of sociobiology?

We will probably never have another Shakespeare, but we could have a Darwinian tune up of his worldview to take on the arts and humanities, which have been destroyed by postmodernism, Marxism, feminism, multiculturalism, anti-religion, and anti-white-racism, which are all absurdness, lies, and undisguised wills to power astoundingly taught in virtually all our schools and reflected throughout the media.

The postmodern idea that everything is socially constructed (but not postmodernism?) is almost psychotic. The explanation that seems plausible to me for the freakish victory of postmodernism, Marxism, feminism, etc. in the academic world and in the media is that the relativism and power philosophy of postmodernism was not successfully countered by the academic traditional conservatives because they could not fully accept their best defense, which is the broadly biological origin of our social behavior, taught by the scientific synthesis of sociobiology. They could not even affirm religion as essentially having been a better way to socially bond groups together (altruism) for successful survival and reproduction. Traditionalists could not see beyond their definition of God as being outside the world of biological power and material desires, and so postmodernism won the academic power war.

The biological origin of our social behavior, as empirically explained by sociobiology, actually ends the intellectual defense of postmodern relativism. As long as we are alive every cell in our body demands survival and reproductive success. This natural activation can be blocked, subverted, or it can be unknown to us, but it can't legitimately be intellectually or instinctively denied. Any existing "relativity" of values can come only from the various social and cultural methods we try (including postmodernism) to unconsciously or consciously biologically and genetically advance out kin, related ethnic group, locality and nation.

A Neo-Darwinist Shakespeare could have a ball satirizing postmodernism, Marxism, feminism, multiculturalism, anti-religion, and anti-white-racism, while supporting the populist nationalism and ethnostatism now trying to rise in the very corrupted West. But if we never have another Shakespeare I would settle for less if they at least affirmed Darwinist sociobiology.

Evolutionary conservatism says we require a proper balance between order and evolution

The nature of man is flawed say Christian conservatives. Liberal's say that man and the world are improvable. Conservative's say human nature aspires to dominance and power and can only be countered by countervailing balance of power. Liberal's believe we can all march toward equality in all things. Conservative's see various hierarchies as natural. Conservative's believe it is dangerous to disturb old traditions and that we can only “prune and patch” what we have.

Evolutionary conservatism says we require a proper balance between order and evolution. If we are closed to evolution we can become stagnant, if we are closed to order we can become chaotic.  Steady change, not revolution, is typical in biological evolution and is the conservative way to evolve and change; we evolved three brains, one evolved upon the other---the reptilian and the mammalian brains were retained, not thrown away, even as we evolved the higher neocortex.

We cannot legitimately be morally relative as long as we are alive. We are alive with a human nature that affirms natural law derived from our bio-social human nature, and from nature itself. In politics trying to rid real human nature and culture of the deep-seated preference for kin and ethnic group is attempted by many ideologies, but the biological origin of social behavior and real human nature lead naturally to regionalism, localism, and an ethnopluralism of ethnostates. An ethnopluralism of ethnostates or regions could be conservatively established, legally, in the United States with our constitutional separation of powers and states, protected from marauding imperialists, supremacists, and global money grubbers by a defensive federalism.

Natural rights suggest that all men are born with the desire to survive and reproduce successfully but natural rights do not guarantee results, since evolution cannot always guarantee results. The need for order is based most deeply on the needs of evolution, since we have a very long way to materially evolve to ascending levels of Godhood. We are “in-between” the beast and Godhood so we cannot yet claim to be divine.

How theological materialism conservatively transforms and not destroys the revealed religions

To St. Thomas and founding ascetics from other revealed religions God is completely immovable, unchanging, and also non-material, and the experience of God, or beatitude, is reached and experienced by stopping or overcoming all movable, changing, and material desires. That is the Involutionary Inward Path to the God within.

Death too is immovable, unchanging, and also non-material, while life is movable, changing, and material, yet to St. Thomas and founding ascetics from other revealed religions God resembles immovable, unchanging, and non-material death. They even say such this things as, "He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 10:23. To live in beatitude we must die to all material desires.

In theological materialism the Evolutionary Outward Path to real Godhood is attained by evolving to ascending levels of Godhood by way of material and supermaterial evolution, that is, by way of movable, changing, and material life and not by way of immovable, unchanging, and non-material death.

It's usually easier and more humane to transform the old way than to destroy it, that is the prudent way to change, which conservative's prefer, and so in theological materialism the Twofold Path conservatively retains the old Involutionary Inward Path to the God within as the first glimpse or symbol of God, which is transformed in the Evolutionary Outward Path of material evolution to ascending levels of real Godhood.

The West will be renewed

It as happened time and again throughout human history, the internal take-down and external invasion of developed and prosperous countries by barbarians, following too much self indulgence, the loss of virility, a devotion to constant comfort and bourgeois decadence. Then, as Wayne Allensworth points out in Chronicles (July 2019), such movements as the Christian Knights appear after the fall of Rome to pull the civilization out of Dark Ages and defend the civilization.

Walls can be built to keep pillaging migrant invaders out but then soft decadent people and greedy men demand that we tear down the walls and allow the country to be overwhelmed by cultures and races so diverse, so different from one another, that they cannot live in harmony and peace together in the same living space. And so it has gone, time and again repeated.

Well, as the great still taboo historian Wilmot Robertson wrote in 1992, what is called for is a new form of government that would transform socially destructive into socially constructive forces, this time in the form of autonomous, relatively self-sufficient ethnostates.

Human nature IS ethnocentric and kin-selecting an has been since humans became humans. Group-selection was the way for individuals to successfully survive, so altruism, or being for others, was naturally limited mainly to kin and ethnic group because they shared the same genes which strive for successful survival. Trying to rid human nature and culture of the deep-seated preference for kin and ethnic group, which is attempted by many ideologies and religions, is like trying to rid human beings of being human. That is inhumane and cruel.

I think an ethnopluralism of ethnostates or regions could be conservatively established, legally, in the United States with our constitutional separation of powers and states, and then protected from marauding imperialists, supremacists, and global money grubbers, by a defensive-minded federalism.

How far will we have to fall before we realize this?

Artificial intelligence is fine but it should not take the place of biological evolution

Ray Kurzweil says “Biological evolution is too slow for the human species. Over the next few decades, it’s going to be left in the dust. By the 2030, the non-biological portion of our intelligence — our technology — will predominate…”

I wonder if Kurzweil fears or hates the idea of human biological evolution. The bitterly ironic thing is if Kurzweil and his cronies control what he calls “our technology” that could give them a power advantage, a biological advantage. The revenge of the nerds.

Kurzweil sees a merger of man and machine, which could bury the distinction between the natural and artificial. Again, a disrespect for natural biology.

Artificial intelligence is fine but it should not take the place of biological evolution. AI should be an aid in the biological evolution of man to ascending levels of Godhood.

If we have to deal with nerds I prefer those in genetics and bio-engineering. We can enhance our genetic and biological capabilities endlessly as we evolve toward Godhood, but if we upload ourselves into silicone chips we could end natural evolutionary life.

Don't fall for despoiling or destroying biology and biological evolution. Will there be a war one day between the Naturals and the Artificials?

When will we get a presidential candidate who affirms the biological origin of social behavior?

Have we gone so away from real human nature that people really need to be told that “ the anus is not a sexual organ” which I saw the other day on Twitter beneath a picture of homosexual presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg?

Here are few more captions I'd like to see: “The genes hold culture on a leash,” or “biological is the origin of social behavior.”

Affirming the biological origin of social behavior is an antidote to the truly ridiculous abstractions we see today in the media, in our schools, and with our presidential candidates. We need to get back to real human nature.

Cultures can operate for a time with behavior that goes against human nature with such experiments as the cultural Marxism of our presidential candidates but cultures are eventually pulled back by the biological and genetic leash of real human nature to cultures that better reflect real human nature.

The reality is that real human nature remains genetically and biologically kin-centered, gender defined, age-graded, heterosexual, marriage-making, hierarchical, ethnocentric, even xenophobic, and religious-making, among other things, with group-selection as the primary unit of successful selection.

Human nature IS ethnocentric and has been since humans became humans. Group-selection was the only way for individuals to successfully survive, so altruism, or being for others, was naturally and genetically limited mainly to kin and ethnic group because they shared the same genes which strive for successful survival.

This strongly suggests that the biological origin of social behavior and real human nature lead naturally to regionalism, localism, ethnostates, and finally an ethnopluralism of ethnostates. An ethnopluralism of ethnostates or regions could be established, legally, in the United States with our constitutional separation of powers and states, protected from marauding imperialists, supremacists, and global money grubbers, by a defensive federalism.

When will we get a presidential candidate who affirms the biological origin of social behavior?

The sacred goal of material life evolving to real supermaterial Godhood has been blocked

When you think of God as “Being itself ” you then are told by St. Thomas that you can strive to be a “likeness “ of God. This assumes that material life cannot become Gods since we are told that God is non-material and spiritual.

That worldview undervalues and underestimates material life and the sacred goal of material life, because it misdiagnoses the path of the material evolution of life to ascending levels of real material/supermaterial Godhood.

I don't see a “last end” where a one perfect non-material God is attained, there is only ascending levels of real Godhood reached by continual material evolution, with starts and stops along the way. Final endings and first beginnings are a human bias brought on by our own mortality.

When life is artificially divided by a false duality between the nonexistent spiritual and the existent material this undervalues, underestimates, and blocks the sacred goal of material life evolving to real supermaterial Godhood.

Moses owes many of his ethical ideals to Zarathustra

According to J.M. Chaterjee (“The Ethical Conceptions of The Gathas,1934), when the Jews were taken in conquest into the court of Nebuchadnezzar, they reformed their religion along Zoroastrian lines. Jews spent two generations among Zoroastrians and returned with most of the material for the Old Testament. Some people have even thought that Abraham was Zarathustra.

Moses seems to owe many of his ethical ideals to Zarathustra. Joshua reformed the community from Egypt to the older religion of Zarathustra. When Moses led his people out of Egypt in the 13th century BC into Palestine Zarathustra was already seen in inscriptions of the 14th century. Worship of God at Sinai follows the train of Zarathustra.

The Jews learned from the Iranian religion of Zarathustra the idea of the celestial hierarch, the idea of duality, temptation by the devil, the concept of non-idolatry, non-symbolical image worship, or the good-evil nature of deity, Resurrection, the concept of heaven and hell, and the evil spirit.

The Iranian religion of Zarathustra continues the same since its founding with no abrupt change or breach with the past. Zarathustra largely agrees with the ancient Proto-Indo-European classics since the Rig Veda.

Christianity developed from this Zoroastrian/Jewish history. I think Buddhism too might have influenced the Jewish sect of the Essenes concerning piety, celibacy, the absence of personal property and of money; Simon J. Joseph said the influence of Essenes can be detected in the pages of the New Testament.

Creating a false duality between spirit and matter unnecessarily complicates Godhood

Bradford McCall suggested in a survey of Philip Clayton's book “Mind & Emergence” (Zygon 2010) that “the Spirit is kenotically poured into creation, which onsets the long and laborious process of prebiotic evolution, leading to biological evolution toward increasing complexity. The complexification of matter, then, has its ontological origin in and through the agency of the Spirit of God. As such, the concept of creatio continua, continuing creation, is defended. The Spirit enables emergence by endowing creation and creatures with the ability to unfold by apparent natural processes according to their own inherent potentialities and possibilities." McCall said Clayton's essay “contributes to a systematic theology of creation by constructing a theological synthesis between kenosis and emergence.”

I think he had it almost right, but I have asserted that the “Spirit of God,” which I call the material activation of Tirips or the will, does not sacrifice itself in a kenosis and is not the Spirit of God but is simply the inward material activation within life always activating life to evolve in the material world to ascending levels of Godhood, while working with outward natural selection and evolution. Creating a false duality between spirit and matter unnecessarily complicates Godhood; a non-material force is not necessary and does not exist. A material world with a material or supermaterial Godhood materially evolved to brings religion and science together naturally and effortlessly, where they belong.

The goal of evolving to Godhood need not deprive us of either science or religion

Tusar Nath Mohapatra listed them as Kant's sublime, Hegel's absolute, Darwin's evolution, Schopenhauer's will, Marx's matter, Kierkegaard's passion, Nietzsche's overman, and Bergson's elan vital. In theological materialism all of them help define the material activation within life of the will or Tirips.

Those who believe in the complete randomness of evolution, the vast majority of scientists, often make dismissive comments regarding any kind of direction to evolution, usually in footnotes to show its unimportance to the text, but then the footnote’s are often emotional and long, protesting too much. I find the arguments that evolution is “non-purposive” and random as closed as the religious arguments denying evolution, information is lacking in both arguments.

I believe this great process of evolution is activated from within every atom and within every cell of living bodies, which then react and adapt to the various outside environments that life lives in. This activation includes the same activation that leads to the desire to successfully survive and reproduce. This sacred activation, which I call Tirips, is a material/supermaterial activation, not spiritual, and it works along with natural selection and evolution.

The goal of evolving to Godhood need not deprive us of either science or religion. Defining the Will or Tirips as internally activating life toward evolving toward higher and higher forms, and eventually to Godhood, may be a bit further than some people want to go, but I think we need to go there. I hope such a drive and direction will one day be acknowledged by science. and religion.

Contrary to traditional religion we can indeed immanentize the eschaton, attain ascending levels of Godhood directly within nature and evolution, when we affirm that evolution moves inevitably in a pattern, even though it has its random elements, and the pattern has a discernible direction, in spite of instances of stagnation and retreat, toward higher and higher more effective living forms, all the way to Godhood. Our mission is to help it along the way.

Political idiots like Brad Pitt so far seem unconcerned with alienating half the American population

ABC's Oscar telecast reached all-time lows in the ratings. Good I say. Political idiots like Brad Pitt so far seem unconcerned with alienating half the American population with their smearing of Trump at these award shows, but when people stop going to their movies that could change---or maybe the ratty producers won't hire actors who can't draw an audience. I know I'll never go to a movie again with Robert De Niro in it for his gross attacks on Trump.

Actors used to be on the side of the “new thing” which is now the populist nationalism raging across Europe and America, but today's actors are cheap, vulgar, socialist, fools.

I don't like Trump's arrogant personalty either, but it's a tough world out there and regular politicians don't have the balls to make America great again.

Distortions of the material and spiritual

The mind is strictly material. Alexander Bard, a modern Zoroastrian, once pointed out (from a discontinued Google Reader) that Craig Venter invented artificial life which can reproduce itself. He used only chemicals and nothing else. Bard says everything is material and he said that the Indo-Europeans were always monists believing in one material substance over all. Bard says dualism, the belief that there is a spiritual substance separate from material, is both unscientific, nonsensical and Abrahamic, and certainly not Indo-European.

I agree that everything is material---and I include Godhood---but I think the Indo-European's became as spiritual as the Abrahamics and probably influenced them. I think what happened was in the distant past Indo-European warriors discovered techniques for helping them to endure distress without mental disturbance, mantras etc. which gave them advantages over their competitors. Specialists in these techniques then developed, teaching initiate warriors etc. Gradually this class of specialists became a priest class, and the mantras changed from material to spiritual.

Ascending levels of Gods and Godhood are strictly material and supermaterial and evolved to in the material world, activated by an inward material will or Tirips, which works along with outward natural selection and evolution. Neither the Indo-European's nor the Abrahamic's defined Gods and Godhood that way.

Toward noble art and popular art in theological materialism

The Traditionalist School doesn't like Renaissance art, or the ancient Greeks because they think art shifted from the inner presence to the outer presence (see Ananda Coomaraswamy), or from the future to the present, from spiritual to material, from Godly man to animal man.

Russell Kirk said that “decadence” can be defined as the loss of an end goal. Noble Art is basically art concerned with the goal itself, the ethical perception of Godhood, iconography, sacred objects. Noble and Popular Art are concerned with progress toward the goal, variability, evolution, common but religious objects.

Both Noble and Popular Art need to be concerned with theology because both are “heavenward leaning,” which is the old inward term for our outward material evolution toward real Godhood. The distinction is between theological and non-theological, not between cultured or primitive art. There may only be a difference in the degree of refinement.

As it turns out the so-called ignorant masses may be the only ones to preserve traditions, sometimes without even understanding them, as the decadent higher social levels have now all but broken the links.

How the Third Covenant, the Cosmic Covenant, is amenable to liberals, conservatives, scientists and religionists (from 2018)

Political philosophers talk of ideologies, religious philosophers talk of covenants, they can be combined in the Third Covenant, the Cosmic Covenant.

In the past I wrote of Three Covenants and how in the First Covenant of Primordial Tradition the Spirit and Soul of the Inward Path were understood as existing in the blood, that is, as being passed on only racially and tribally to a chosen eg. (Jewish) or noble (Aryan) people, etc.. Then Jesus Christ (and Eastern masters) brought the knowledge that the spirit and Soul-Within need not be understood and affirmed only racially or tribally but could be understood and followed by any race, any people, universally, provided they were taught the proper way to see or experience the God Within; Christianity said we were “Chosen” through faith in Christ not chosen by blood. That was the Second Covenant. Theological materialism (and the projected Theoevolutionary Church) affirms the mission and path of the Third Covenant, the Cosmic Covenant of the Evolutionary Outward Path, which revitalizes Primordial Tradition, Christianity, Hinduism etc. by once again affirming the First Covenant of genetic and biological qualities within our material evolution to supermaterial Godhood as applied to the Outward Path of material evolution to supermaterial Godhood, yet also, as in the Second Covenant, this is applied to all people, all nations, all races, all people, preferably living in their own protected states or ethnostates with access to knowledge of the material evolution to Godhood. That is the synthesis of the Three Covenants in theological materialism.

The
Third Covenant acknowledges the biological origin of our social behavior and can end the intellectual separation between political ideologies and religious covenants, pointing toward the religious/political/cultural solution of the ethnopluralism hypothesis, often written about here. It is a conservative transformation---not revolution---that can bring about an ethnopluralism of ethnostates, which is the sociopolitical or political/cultural structure most in harmony with kin-centered and ethnocentric real human nature which evolved many thousands of years ago and remains with us today. Each ethnostate, each ethnic group, each race, can have access to knowledge of our sacred material evolution to supermaterial Godhood, and can pursue that sacred evolution in their own way in their own protected states, in the variety that is conducive to evolution, perhaps aided by nonpartisan international sociobiological research centers, as Raymond Cattell suggested.

I see this as a traditional and conservative and not a revolutionary undertaking, as the evolving Covenants affirm, and it is amenable
to liberals and conservatives, scientists and religionists.

As we evolve toward real Godhood

The most St Thomas Aquinas offers us is to “see” God in his essence, to “know” God is the best we can do.

But to know God is not enough, we need to become Gods by evolving in the material world to ascending levels of real Godhood. Of course, traditional religions call that an evil desire and assign it their most evil designation: satanic.

The evolution of life is not satanic it moves inevitably in a pattern, even though it has its random elements, and the pattern has a discernible direction, in spite of instances of stagnation and retreat, toward higher and higher more effective living forms, all the way to Godhood.

If anything is evil it is the turning ones back on the material world and the sacred desire within life to evolve to the zenith of success in survival and reproduction, which is real supermaterial Godhood.

But a battle over who is evil is not necessary, at least not on the part of theological materialism, which affirms supermaterial Godhood reached by material and supermaterial evolution yet conservatively considers the evolutionary Outward Path as an improvement on the Inward Path to the symbolic inward God of Traditional religions, not an evil. (see the Twofold Path)

The activation of material life toward evolving to Godhood is the unchanging constant, but values within this basic instinct can conservatively change, as the inward will to Godhood, or Tirips, works along with outside natural selection and evolution making new discoveries and presents new challenges as we evolve toward real Godhood.

Defining beauty in the Twofold Path is a reconciliation of the sacred and profane (from 2012)

What is it like to look at something beautiful? Plato and traditional religion said beauty brought a desire akin to contemplating the good, but Burke said beauty brought a desire to possess the object.

I see Plato's contemplating the good as related to the Involutionary Inward Path to the God or Father Within whereas Burke's desire to possess the object is related to the Evolutionary Outward Path of material evolution to Godhood.

Godhood is reached through material and supermaterial evolution engaged in reproduction and survival, as life evolves and rises to the highest beauty and truth possible in the cosmos. The Inward Path must block material desires to reach the enlightenment of seeing the God Within and so material desires are called profane by ascetics. But the desire to possess is not a profane definition of beauty.

It is the Outward Path of evolution that brings back sacred beauty from its exile in the Great Spiritual Blockade of the Inward Path. This seems to suggest that what the Inward Path defines as profane is defined as sacred in the Outward Path, and vice versa. But both kinds of beauty, both paths can be affirmed in the Twofold Path. The beauty of the Inward Path is a mirror to help us see the true beauty reached in the Outward Path.

Defining beauty in the Twofold Path is a reconciliation of the sacred and profane.

Gods are far more than the bliss of experiencing the nirvana and beatitude of inward man

Joseph Campbell said, “All the gods, all the heavens, all the hells, are within you,” and regarding the revealed religions he was right, although they also think of God as outside of man.

The Inward Paths of the ascetic practices of the revealed religions lead to the inward bliss of experiencing the nirvana and beatitude of an inward godhood, attained by blocking all material desires, and it is entirely within man: but it is not Godhood.

Ascending levels of Godhood are reached by material bodies evolving in the Outward Path to supermaterial bodies, which means Gods are far more than the bliss of experiencing the nirvana and beatitude of inward man.

Real human nature is not an error

As I watched befuddled Congresswomen Nancy Pelosi rip up a copy of President Donald Trump's speech after his State of the Union address, in plain sight of millions of people, I realized again how important it is to have intelligent leaders. Pelosi is one of the pack of left-liberals and socialists who are stupid enough to believe that real human nature is an error, a blunder; we are supposed to not only have equality of opportunity but equality of condition for all people, that is, little difference in the possessions of wealth, social status and power for all individuals and all ethnic groups (accept whites). That is what has been taught in all our schools and broadcast in virtually all the media, and that is what Pelosi and her idiot colleagues in the Democratic Party believe, or at least say they believe.

Even after the constant political propaganda of cultural Marxism, left-liberalism, and global neoconservatism preached in all our schools and across the media, human nature remains as it has always been, genetically and biologically kin-centered, gender defined, age-graded, heterosexual, marriage-making, hierarchical, ethnocentric, even xenophobic, and religious-making, among other things, with group-selection as the primary unit of successful selection. Race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation tend to eventually conform to the human nature reflected in identity politics.

The obvious solution to the diversity of bio-cultural identities in the world, each with its own natural urge to perpetuate itself and establish its own culture, is not to try to jam everyone together in the same territory or to demand a creed of complete equality or multiculturalism, but to establish ethnostates for all distinctive groups and then protect them from marauding imperialists, supremacists, and money grubbers, with a defensive federalism. An ethnopluralism of ethnostates or regions could be established, legally, in the United States, adapted from our constitutional separation of powers and states.

We need leaders intelligent enough to know, and strong enough to declare, that real human nature is not an error. Soon we will need even more than populist-nationalist President Trump wants for the nation.

Becoming Godhood in evolution

St. Thomas said that “The last end of human life is beatitude” and that the beatitude of man is the perfect act of seeing or feeling the divine being, which to humans is also the highest mode of Being. Buddha did much the same thing in advocating the non-material path to nirvana. That position undervalues both God and man.

According to Buddhism true reality is emptiness, which we can only see when we do not “cling” to self and phenomena, and thus see true reality. This is called “liberation” from bondage. The goal is to feel neither attachment or aversion to the world. That is liberation and beatitude, the description of the bliss felt from freeing the mind and body of all material desires. That also suggests hedonism, the ethical theory that pleasure is the highest good and proper aim of human life. That blissful condition of Christ and Buddha is a high category of hedonism hypertrophied and experienced by freeing the body and mind of all passion, and all material desires---which is no easy task.

Beatitude and Nirvana are are not the goal of the Evolutionary Outward Path to real Godhood, they are the goal of the Involuntary Inward Path to the nirvana of the Inward God or Father-Within, the Heaven-Within which Jesus Christ sought and found.

Godhood is not merely calculation, not meditation, not presence, not intuition, not deduction, and not the human experience of bliss. Godhood is a real supermaterial object, or objects, reached through material and supermaterial evolution. The highest act of life is not merely to have blissful intellectual intuition of God, it is to become Godhood in evolution.

Even so, in the Twofold Path we can conservatively retain or include the intellectual intuition of God, seen in the Involutionary Inward Path to the Soul-Within, but we must not be blocked there in a Great Spiritual Blockade. We must move on to the Evolutionary Outward Path, which is materially activated so that we can, through material and supermaterial evolution, become real Godhood.

Can perfection be reached? No, just as perfection in evolution is never final, at least not until Godhood is attained, and even then evolution continues endlessly with ascending levels of Godhood, with no ending and no beginning.
