The difficult problem of human lying, deceit and subterfuge

It is hard to accept that lying, deceit and subterfuge is the standard underground behavior of superpowers, but it is naive to think otherwise. Still it is a difficult thing to accept.

It probably was the "conspiracy theorists" who openly announced the operating motto of the Israeli Mossad, because it would not have been very deceptive to announce that your motto was: "by way of deception thou shalt do war."

I suppose becoming an ascetic and dropping out of the material world is one way to avoid lying, deceit and subterfuge, but that is like committing suicide. Philosophers are supposed to look only for the truth, but philosophers don't rule, even if Plato thought they should.

Human successful selection takes place at the group level first and at the individual level second, as honest sociobiology has shown us. Within groups selfish individuals beat altruistic individuals, but groups of altruists beat groups of selfish individuals.

One way to deal with this difficult problem of human lying, deceit and subterfuge is to set up states where humans have fewer internal enemies, and that would be states where kin and ethnic groups are similar and homogeneous, which defines ethnostates, where altruism can work more smoothly. Most states began that way. In general an ethnopluralism of ethnostates could minimize lying, deceit and subterfuge.
