The long term way out of cultural gridlock
Our cultural gridlock, the complete
halting of our overloaded system, is the natural outcome of trying to
turn a formerly European and Christian nation into a nation of all
religions, all cultures, all ethnic groups. Human nature simply does
not melt that way, people always prefer their own culture.
But all is not lost. The way out of
our cultural gridlock is not to demand more of the same cultural Marxism, which attempted to make us all get along by trying unsuccessfully to
destroy all our differences.
The way out of our cultural gridlock is
to reaffirm the independent small states and regions of America, which were intended by our original Constitution. We are lucky to have this legal way out of our difficulties. We
need to reaffirm the 10th Amendment. Each state and
region can be as different as they choose to be, protected by a light
federalism.
Of course, even the lightest protective
federalism is not easy, it is never easy to keep our differences from
boiling over, which is why it is so important to separate our
differences in small states and regions---unless we want one of the bad “isms:”
imperialism, Marxism or fascism, which cause more problems than they may temporarily solve.
And I dare say that a Europe, Russia
and China of thousands of states is the long term way to deal with their
differences as well. Then we can all get on with the sacred task of
evolving outward into the cosmos.
