Agreements And Differences With Conservatism

We have more in common with Paleoconservatism than with Traditional Conservatism, although they are similar in many areas. We do not like abstract principles presented without connection to sociobiological roots. Freedoms can only take place if they are rooted in human nature.

Ours is a value system that is not so much “historicism” (the worthy idea that historical circumstances set values) as it is sociobiological, the idea that their exits a biological origin to social behavior which has been ignored in the modern world.

But we believe that sociobiological forces are grounded in the universal imperative of the Spirit-Will within life which helps activate life to evolve to Godhood. This is the real reason why religion is, and needs to be, at the heart of every culture and civilization.

Human nature is rooted in the family, selection takes place at the group level, and ethnic level, and individual selection follows in the wake of group selection. This is the main justification for affirming decentralization, small independent states, and localism.

Humans tend to favor their own people, we feel more altruistic toward those who share our genes. There are really no big boundaries between extended families and ethnic groups. Ethnic groups are extremely extended families. As Steve Sailor points out, ethnic nepotism is about as strong a bond as the uncle-nephew bond.

We agree with classical conservatism that human societies are naturally hierarchical, involving various classes and categories. Hierarchy allows for the preservation of of the whole community, not protecting only one elite or proletariat group at the expense of the others.

We affirm “federalism” defined by the international definition of federalism, which is defined as “anti-federalism” by many Paleoconservatives in America. But this also means a federalism given the power to put up national tariffs or value added taxes against foreign imports to protect manufacturing in the independent states of the nation.

We repudiate the prevailing Cultural Marxism which believes that culture creates man, not man creates culture. Cultural Marxism, socialism and existentialism believe that there is no inherent biological human nature, so they stand against governments or religions based in human nature.

Our worldview retains many conservative ideas and principles, with several important differences. Humanity is “imperfect” and “flawed” not because of original sin but because humanity is still on the path of higher evolution to Godhood.

The Twofold Path of the Theoevolutionary Church connects us to Western Christianity and Eastern religions. We evolve in the Evolutionary Outward Path to the God first seen in the Involutionary Inward Path of  Traditional Religions.

For the Theoevolutionary Church the universal imperative that bonds human beings is the Spirit-Will within life which activates life to evolve to Godhood in the cosmos, working along with natural selection from the outside. This is the transcendent moral order which grounds our sociobiological social philosophy. We affirm an Ordered Evolution to Godhood applying Revitalized Conservatism.

More Agreements And Differences With Conservatism

While we do downplay the notions of individualism, liberalism and modernism, we believe in the Enlightenment, and in progress, based in the transcendent order of evolving to Godhood, which is the ultimate “progress.”

Intellectual intuition can inform reason and reason can inform intellectual intuition, as we seek to order ourselves in the world. We do not leave out sociobiological imperatives (as natural law) when we think of the organization of society. Religion and science can work together in the sacred mission of the evolution to Godhood, which defines the transcendent moral order.

Preserving the natural world is highly valued in the Theoevolutionary Church (TC), whether one is speaking of urban life or the agrarian life.

We do not only defend High Culture but also low culture and popular culture. We believe that the affirmation of the sacred can run through all degrees of refinement, low to high, the difference is in the degrees of refinement. Profane and vulgar art is defined as having no connection to the sacred, or as only an attack on the sacred, with no socially redeeming replacement.

Comparing patriotism and nationalism, it is completely natural to have stronger loyalties to a locality, a region, or a specific people. Loyalty to the larger national identity, and then to the world, follows naturally, but with less strength. This needs to be taken into account by utopian internationalists.  Small states, regions and ethnic groups need to be allowed to evolve in their own way.  We believe human beings are capable of what Raymond Cattell called cooperative competition.

The Edmund Burke conception of “Ordered Liberty” is not enough, we require Ordered Evolution, since we will not remain as we are permanently, we are evolving to Godhood in the cosmos, beyond the human species. However, we need to advance with an Ordered Evolution. Radicalism and revolution destroy the the order upon which evolving life depends, as pointed out eloquently by Burke, andRussell Kirk in our own time.

We do criticize “cash nexus” consumerism, and "greed is good" libertarianism, but we don't condemn “materialism.” Materialism is the vehicle of our evolution to Godhood, as affirmed in Theological Materialism. Economic gain is not the most important social activity, evolution is. This informs our attitude toward ethnic and class differences as well. We support the affirmation of the sacred for all people. In affirming federalism, we affirm local economies, small business, craftsmen, and artists. Big business and big government always become totalitarian.

We like meritocracy more than aristocracy. We need to find the best in all areas, and the best can come from anywhere. All classes, all ethnic groups are encouraged to improve culturally and genetically. We are all evolving to Godhood, not just one people. We do not have an exact political model but we think people are best guided by a meritocracy which affirms Traditional Revitalized Conservatismand Ordered Evolution.

Men and women are sociobiologically different and attempting to engineer gender equality is a nightmare. Certainly there should be equal pay for equal work, but gender differences are beautiful differences that are resolved in loving marriages.

Neoconservatism advocates conservative-like ideas but neoconservatives turn out not to be very conservative. Neoconservatism is an imperial force breaking down borders and natural differences. Many neocons were former Marxists and they have not lost their taste for dictatorship of the proletariat.
