The profane artist uses
art forms and models with little or no connection to the sacred. Art is not
defined as profane because it transmits only man, it is profane
because it ignores the sacred.
Beauty becomes vital in sacred art because perfect beauty, perfect truth, perfect goodness, perfect power etc, is the goal of the activating will (Tirips) in evolution, which works along with outside natural selection and evolution seeking always ascending levels of Godhood on earth and in the cosmos.
The mission of sacred art is to attempt to transmit these perfections, expanding the abstract definitions of traditional sacred art. Beauty suggests action, form, power, and procreation in evolution. Attraction toward beauty is attraction toward Godhood. Godhood is an evolving perfecting object not merely a definition.
We can go back to, or forward to, the Promethean, which was so demeaned by the Traditionalists. We are evolving to Godhood in the Outward Path, and we should not be stunted or blocked by the Great Spiritual Blockade of Traditionalism which tends to pay attention only to the abstract Inward Path truths while blocking or unaware of the Outward Path of material evolution to real supermaterial Godhood.
Traditional Religion at its essence virtually rejects the material world, although it does valiantly try to redeem the material world theologically, intellectually, in the works of the Church Fathers. The Greeks were more humanistic. The evolving human body is activated by the evolution to Godhood, formed by successful survival and reproduction, and moved by the activating will (Tirips) within evolution which works along with outside natural selection and evolution, and we can be brought forward to sacred Promethean religious art.
