Our future survival depends on accepting a deeper form of realism

With a transition back to the Realist position on war and strategy we can move away from the corrupt liberal and neoconservative idea of hegemony in the world, trying to maintain a world dominance, which does not take into account the fast-growing ethnic, national, and religious identity politics, which are powerful forces against a unipolar world.

Psychologist and sociobiologist Raymond Cattell's evolutionary argument against war was that it is the quality rather than the size of the group that should be the basis for future realism, whereas in war size has counted.

Another way special forces now prove the point of quality over quantity is in the fourth generation insurgent warfare we will now be engaged in, as William Lind has been saying, and not the old ways of huge war machines.

As someone said, the neoconservatives have taken the Hellenized position of a universal elite who think ideas can transcend tribes, cultures and epics, but this never worked well in America. Like Rome, we were, or used to be, too pragmatic for the idealism of Greek philosophy, we wanted to build roads and strong people more than build ideal philosophy. Nevertheless, we need to build more than roads, we need to take into account the biological origin of social behavior.

In a deeper realist sense I believe traditional religion needs to affirm the philosophical naturalism of theological materialism and revise the unrealistic spiritualism that is weakening us rather than strengthening us. We are realistically evolving to ever-ascending levels of Godhood in the material and supermaterial world, and we need long-term realistic strategies to do so, in which, for example, war is to be avoided---as mentioned above, war destroys quality and favors quantity, and in materially evolving to Godhood we need to highly value quality.

We also need to take into account ethnic, national, and religious identity politics rather than reject them, they are strongly against a unipolar world, and growing. I think present ethnic, racial, and financial imperialism will eventually need to give way to ethnopluralism, with regions and states set aside for ethnic cultures, protected by some sort of federalism. The separation of powers and states enshrined in the US Constitution could be the best way to develop ethnostates legally without radical, illegal, or violent methods.

Our future survival depends on accepting a deeper form of realism.
