The new religion of 9/11

It seems that we have a new secular religion in America, a new mass of sacrifice called 9/11.  Why?

Certainly the victims and heroes of 9/11 deserve our sympathy and gratitude, but who is promoting the new sensational religion of 9/11?

An alliance of neoconservatives and the media are promoting the new religion of 9/11. The neoconservatives want America to remain permanently at war with Islam, and the media agrees, although the media also sees better ratings in featuring the tragedy.

The old noble ethos was to move on from past tragedies, and not to remain in permanent resentment. Now we have a culture of resentment, sensation, and revenge, at least in the media. 

We would not be at war with Islam if we had not first invaded their territories. Whether the media or the neoconservatives like it or not, we need to bring our troops home. We can then defend ourselves from any real threats to our national security with power second to none.  Is it not the neoconservatives and the media who are now the threat to our national security?
