Overcoming The Crisis In Religion

Religion has been dying at least since the Enlightenment of the 18^th century, but I think it is now in the crisis stage.

Science and the atheists cannot alone be blamed for the crisis. Religion has been a religio-philosophical history of the slow destruction of the material world and real objects. God has disappeared from the world in the name of spiritualism and anti-materialism, which has brought us nothingness. It is no wonder a Godless materialism has risen. But it is an amoral, non-religious materialism offering little to replace the character, tone and guiding beliefs of religion.

The crisis in religion has brought forward unreal solutions that only put a happy religious face on the source of the crisis. For example, the new “evolutionary spirituality” brings Eastern religions to the West and confounds and distorts involution by calling it evolution. It is the same basic discounting of the material world which has led to the decline and fall of religion.

Meanwhile, the latest book by famed atheist Richard Dawkins is designed for young people who, judging from the popular media, are already amoral atheists. Have you seen the new situation comedies of this television season? This is what adolescent boys amuse themselves with outside the confines of the locker room.

Non-crisis leaders have sacrificed realism in the interest of an empty happiness, usually unconsciously. But real crisis eventually brings forward leaders who do well in a crisis because they don't distort reality,  crisis becomes the source of new strength and creativity, bringing unusual solutions to very serious problems. The Theoevolutionary Church rises out of this religious crisis with realism, empathy, and creativity. 

Our mission is to bring the good news that Godhood is supermaterial, not immaterial, and Godhood is reached through material and supermaterial evolution, animated by the Spirit-Within. This is defined in the Evolutionary Outward Path leading to Real Godhood, and is added to the Involutionary Inward Path which seeks the God or Father-Within of the Revealed Religions. Science can join religion in guiding our evolution to Godhood, and religion can once again bring character, tone and guiding belief to the lost world.

The lamb of the Soul and the wolf of the Spirit

The lamb of the Soul has been menaced by the wolf of the Spirit, and vice versa. But this is resolved in the Twofold Path, the Involutionary Inward Path (Soul) and the Evolutionary Outward Path (Spirit).

The Revealed Religions have essentially heeded only the Inward Path and the lamb of the Soul, that is the Path to the God-Within or the Father-Within, which can be seen only by blocking the wolf of the Spirit of the Outward Path. But the Outward Path of the wolf of the Spirit is the Path to Real Godhood, and not the Path to the Virtual God of the Inward Path.

The Spirit both continues through time with survival and reproduction, and is born from living moment to living moment, something like an inward electromagnetic force of the cells of the body, a Spirit with both a history in time and also an eternal now, always fresh.

The Path of the Spirit must be made conscious even though It is always there unconsciously animating us. Why? So we can help It along It's way. The Inward Path of involution is the Path of the Crucified, the Outward Path of evolution is the Path of the Hero.

The Theoevolutionary Church (TC) retains the Inward Path of the Revealed Religions, specifically in Christianity, since we are Western. This is the Way to experience the Father Within, which can show us something of what attaining Real Godhood will be like in the Outward Path of evolution to Godhood.  The ECC synthesizes the spiritual and the material. Our mission is to introduce the Evolutionary Outward Path to the Involutionary Inward Path, taking the menace out of both.

Protecting the natural preferences of human nature

There is much fear and bias involved in speaking of human evolution and genetics, it is thought very dangerous, especially after the supremacist and imperialistic eugenics of WWII. The natural human preference for beauty, intelligence, health and power needs to be acknowledged, among other aspects of real human nature (see sociobiology). This defines a natural sort of genetics.

The Ordered Evolution described in the Theoevolutionary Church is about allowing this evolutionary preference for beauty, intelligence, health and power.   More can be accomplished in upward evolution by allowing and protecting the natural preferences of human nature than by trying to impose them.  

It is when cultures have been against these natural preferences, against human nature, and violently imposing unnatural Marxian equality or supremacist imperialism, that millions of people have been killed.  Ordered Evolution can include Republican forms of government, and a variety of many small states, protected by a light federalism, voluntarily guided by the Church.

It is the Spirit-Will which animates life to evolve toward these natural preferences, with the sacred goal of evolving to the Zenith of these preferences, which is the Absolute Beauty, Intelligence, Health and Power of Godhood. 

The emperor of abstract definition has no clothes

I could agree with Heidegger's idea that the history of metaphysics is the history of the “oblivion of Being,” but I would put it another way: the history of religion and philosophy is the history of the oblivion of the real object.  Given the oblivion of the real object it is no wonder that materialism rejected religion and much of philosophy. In rejecting religion, materialism and philosophy ended up with empty materialism.

Now, in the theological materialism of the Evolutionary Church, the real object of materialism is seen as hypertrophied into the Supermaterial Supreme Object, or Godhood, attained through evolution. This retrieves religion and philosophy and even science from the empty oblivion of Being.

The real object has been lost in almost diabolical abstractions, which means that Real Being is lost in abstractions. Yes, we must use mathematics to technically run the world, but mathematics does not replace real objects and does not replace the Supreme Object of Real Godhood.

We know that living objects exist in the world from the simple to the complex, and it is realistic to say, without abstraction, that a hierarchy of such living objects exist in the cosmos, and this evolution would follow up to the Supremely Complex, with a highest level of evolution, where Godhood would dwell.

A child knows that what he sees is real, without abstractions, even if he does not know that he will see more of the object as his senses and consciousness and intelligence advance. This is basically all that needs to be said regarding how we regard the real world. The emperor of abstract definition has no clothes.

On the Spirit-Will

The Old Adam and the New Adam

The Spirit-Will, which animates life, demands better bodies and better brains to achieve It's goal of evolving along with the body to Godhood. Until science shows its version of truth about the Spirit-Will (and I think it will, perhaps related in some way to electromagnetic force), for now believing in the Spirit-Will is akin to seeing and recognizing the Spirit-Will. This also seems to relate to those who have been chosen to see the Spirit-Will.

The Spirit-Will, body and brain, which includes the Soul, must work along with nature, with natural evolution, to find It's way in upward evolution, depending on the environment of any given time.

A body of flesh is required for the Spirit-Will, which has been incorrectly defined with the Logos. The Spirit-Will is a supermaterial life-force and not an abstract word, reason, principle or form.

The Spirit-Will is begotten along with the material world and is of the so-called “carnal” flesh and instincts and is related directly to the drive to survival and reproduction---the body is the necessary vehicle for the Spirit-Will to ride to Godhood in evolution. The Spirit Will is not immaterial and non-carnal, it is supermaterial and super-carnal.

The “breath of life,” or the Spirit-Will is not breathed into life from an outside God, the breath of life is there from the beginning of each cosmos within matter, animating matter to evolve to Godhood.

This is symbolically a return of the Spirit-Will to the Old Adam, who was concerned with external nature (the Evolutionary Outward Path), while at the same time keeping the New Adam of the inner nature (the Involutionary Inward Path). This is the TwofoldPath, with the Inward Path seeing the Godhood-Within in a virtual sense, and the Outward Path evolving to the Real Kosmic Godhood.

Comparing Pagan Religious Kosmogonia and Cosmogony

Many authors have suggested that Odin migrated from Asia (thus he is of the Aesir), and when he reached the North Germanic region, which included Southern Sweden, a war took place between the North Germanic Vanir and the Aesir. Eventually a truce was created and a meld of the religions and cultures of the Vanir and Aesir was forged. One could say the Vanir Earth Mother, Nerthus, and her consort, Ingwaz, synthesized with the Sky Father, Odin, and his family, eventually creating the mature faith of the Aesir or Odinism. An aside to this is that there are overtones of the Vanir religion in the Cybele-Attis religion of ancient Turkey.

I think it is interesting and illustrative to symbolically compare this ancient Northern and Asian kosmogonia to the kosmogonia and cosmogony of the Evolutionary Outward Path of the Theoevolutionary Church. Symbolically, the cosmos (with a “c”) of Nerthus/Ingwaz evolves to the kosmos (with a “k”) of Odin. The cosmos of Nerthus develops out of basic elements forged in big bangs and star formations, as explained by science, but activated by the Spirit-Will, and then the cosmos evolves upward in consciousness, intelligence and complexity to human beings, and beyond humans all the way to Kosmic Godhood. The earth mother cosmos of the Vanir gives birth to the Skyfather Kosmic Godhood of the Aesir.

Life which has not evolved falls back in entropy and collapse, or symbolically falls back to Nerthus, the mother of all elements, from which new cosmos give birth, each with a chance to evolve all the way up to Kosmic Godhood through the Evolutionary Outward Path.

Ing, the Spirit-Will, gestates in Nerthus, the material world, and activates life to evolve to Godhood, shaped by evolution.

To differentiate, the Involutionary Inward Path of Traditional Religions, including Christianity, attains the Inward God or Father Within, that is the inward, virtual, experience of the outward Godhood reached through the Evolutionary Outward Path of evolution.  Both are included in the Twofold Path of the Theoevolutionary Church.

There is no real intentional concealment of Being

The animation or act of Being is the Spirit-Will residing on the foundation of the Supreme Body of Being, not the other way around. There is no real "concealment" of Being other than the natural great distance between the Highest Evolved Objects and lower evolved objects.

Action emerges from the combined Supreme Body and Spirit-Will, in Godhood and in man. Being is phenomenon but superphenomenon. Being is substance but supersubstance. Being is not removed from causality, the action of the Spirit-Will and the Supreme Body together is causality. Being will show Itself to all who can see and know Being with whatever capacity they have to see and know Being. Being does not intentionally hide Itself.

Being actually exits outside the mind. Proof? Faith, intellectual intuition and scientific hypothesis. Not enough for you? So be it. More proof will come in the future. We cannot know Being in Its full Being until we evolve higher. Higher consciousness and intelligence create clearer or more real ways of seeing real objects. A frog can only know little of a full human being. For now, Being has to be understood by however those whose understanding of Being can understand.

On Meritocracy

Meritocracy or elitism needs to be based in higher levels of evolution and not necessarily in race, class or state. Eventually we need to evolve beyond the human species, therefore, racial and state configurations, although useful to evolution, are shorter-term strategies for longer-term evolution.

Basic desirable traits and attributes of higher evolution include higher consciousness, higher intelligence, optimal beauty, power, and moral character, all leading in evolution to the zenith of these traits and attributes, which is Godhood. Higher evolution brings us the capacity to save ourselves and advance in the Kosmos.  The sacred goal of life, the goal of evolution, the goal of man, the goal of the Kosmos, is to evolve to Godhood.

This is mainly why racial supremacy and imperialism are considered backward by the Theoevolutionary Church. Ideally the world would have thousands of small states, or ethnostates, each evolving in its own way, protected by a light federalism, and guided, voluntarily, by the Church.

The Balance of the Gentleman

Following World War One and Two there developed a protest against the idea of the Gentleman as a social force. This was a big loss.

The Victorians had inherited some of the ideas of the gentleman and added to it. For example, Plato's Guardians defending the state when young and as magistrates and law-givers when old. The Romans with their “gravitas,” originally despising personal power, etc.

The ethos of the gentleman was balance, a balanced mind in a strong body, courage on the one hand, and desire for knowledge and beauty on the other hand. The Theoevolutionary Church would like to bring that balance back, as well as the balance between the old and the new, the conservative and the progressive, balance between the Inward and Outward Paths in religion with the Twofold Path.

Greek and Roman courage is once again called for in the growth of our worldview, but this is balanced with conservatism. Honor, integrity, wholeness, self-sufficiency, expecting not more, or less, than one deserves. And consideration for women once again, but this time taking into account sociobiologically defined gender---one sees a Spartan woman balanced with a refined lady, as a man is balanced between warrior and cultured gentleman.

The gentleman can continue into the future both culturally and genetically, by continually finding the able, the talented, the intelligent, the moral, from all the classes. Meritocracy is the savior in this, however, even  a Republic can include a hereditary aristocracy, as did the Roman Republic, or as the Founding Fathers of the United States, without establishing new monarchies.

Being Or Godhood As Supremely Evolved Object

Transcendence is another word for evolution

I do not think we should feature the “principle” of substance, called “form” by Aristotle, who thought form was the highest principle of substance. This is how religion and philosophy veer off beyond reality, beyond the object, beyond the truth of the object. Truth is an object first, a principle second.

Godhood or Being should not be envisioned as form or principle or abstraction but as a Supreme Object or Objects, a Supermaterial Object of substance, or super-substance.

The Spirit-Will is the acting animator of being, all the way to Godhood, whereupon Godhood is transformed into the next cosmic Godhood containing the animating Spirit-Will within each being.

For St. Thomas, Being is act, not substance, which would be like saying God is Spirit-Will (although the Spirit-Will is an acting substance). The Spirit-Will is not Being or Godhood, the action of the Spirit-Will is part of Godhood, Being is a Supreme Acting Object.

To Heidegger, Being is also not causality or actuality but the radiance of what shows itself to us (Caputo, “Heidegger and St. Thomas"). But Being is the Zenith of Causality and Action, more than “mere” radiance which is “only” a property of the Object Supreme Being.

Truth is found in objects, in things, which are then seen and described by minds. Minds require bodies, just as the Soul and Spirit-Will require bodies. A Divine Mind exits in the Divine Body of Being.

Transcendence is another word for evolution, the transcendence of being to Godhood is evolutionary, and the transcendence or transformation of Godhood is evolutionary.

As to proof, describing this ontology and metaphysics corresponds to Heidegger's preference for the poet's way of naming Being, as poets and thinkers who have been touched by It (in older words, faith and intellectual intuition). I am waiting for more concrete “scientific” proof, for example, proof of the Supreme Substance of Being and proof of the evolution of beings to Being or Godhood, which will come in the future.

Connecting Conservatives and Progressives

The classical conservative base of tradition, custom and habit, create order, usually does not include natural evolution which should be seen as at the base of conservatism. Nothing is older or more traditional than evolution, even Godhood is attained through evolution. It is conservatism that protects the best of progressive evolution.

The way to synthesize endlessly warring progressives and conservatives is to add natural evolution to conservatism. The goal of natural evolution is sacred Godhood, which conservatism first understood inwardly in the Revealed Religions.

In the Theoevolutionary Church (TC) evolution does not stand without faith because the end of evolution, Godhood, requires faith and intellectual intuition to see, at this time.

The Twofold Path of TC includes both the progressive and conservative narratives rather than one destroying the other, as has been done since the Enlightenment. This is a new narrative for the world but connected to the old narrative.

The Evolutionary Outward Path relates to the progressive path of evolution to Godhood, the God first seen in the conservative Involutionary Inward Path to the God-Within or the Father-Within.

The God-Within of the Involutionary Inward Path is reached in reality when the Godhood of the Evolutionary Outward Path is attained.

Who will really stop the national destruction?

It should be utterly shocking to all of us that multinational corporations, special interest groups and foreign powers control the United States. “Free trade” propaganda has made a very few unpatriotic people very rich at the expense of destroying manufacturing in the U.S.   Jobs have been outsourced to tariff-controlled countries with labor rates of $2 dollars an hour, and then the products of this cheap labor are shipped back to tariff-free America, to be sold to people who are becoming poorer and poorer, living in a decadent and declining culture.  

It might not be pretty. One hopes the Paleoconservative's gather power and eventually save the country, rather than having more of the same Neoconservatism which has been a big part of the problem. One also prefers the Paleos to the extremes, the fascist authoritarians, or libertarian anti-authoritarians. But at this point who knows? Secessionists do not think the Paleoconservatives can save the nation, and they say that secession from the union is legal according to the Constitution.

Scaling down big government and other massive social institutions is vital. The states rights and nullification movements are riding this popular wave. There is an important place for trade with other countries, fair trade with something like a value-added tax on imports, but not free trade. And there is an important place for the federal government, but it is mainly to protect the freedom of the states against multinationals, special interests and foreign powers.

But no civilization stands for long without being grounded in an evolutionary natural law and a universal moral order, which the Theoevolutionary Church certainly works toward attaining.

Theological Materialism: Redeeming both materialism and spiritualism

(A response to “Honesty in the Face of Delusion,” by Mihail Neamtu, Modern Age, Fall 2010)

Materialism has at least as high a standard as spiritualism in the theological materialism of the Theoevolutionary Church. It is not only materialism which caused the “disenchantment with the sacred” (Neamtu). Rejecting the material world---the real base of spiritualism---caused disenchantment with both materialism and spiritualism.

In reality, atheism offered consumerism, nihilism, hyper-individualism, and the oblivion of modern philosophy. But religion offered anti-materialism which can also become a form of nihilism and oblivion.  Atheism sinks into a void, but spiritualism sinks into the nothingness of anti-materialism. 

Religion offered the pursuit of individual happiness tied to a sacred teleological goal, but the goal was all inward, seeking the God Within, the Father-Within. Materialism could not offer a teleological goal, at least not until Supermaterial Godhood was understood as it is in the Theoevolutionary Church TC).

Theological materialism reshapes or revitalizes the Traditional Inward Religions, both West and East. We do not throw out the religious traditions as atheism does, we renew the sense of belonging to a long past, present and future religious history, while including the history of materialism in our religion.

The final answer to the exuberance of the pagans is not the anti-materialism and monasticism of spiritualism, but the fulfillment of the promise of both spiritualism and materialism in evolving to Supermaterial Godhood. 

The Twofold Path in the TC contains both the Inward Path of Traditional Religion and the Outward Path of sacred evolution.  The Inward Path leads to the virtual God Within, which is later attained in the evolution of the Outward Path to Real Supermaterial Godhood.

Both materialism and spiritualism need a new raison d'etre which is more than the empty libertarianism of materialism, and more than the anti-materialism of spiritualism. The  TC offers a genuine, real, “transcendence” in the evolution of life to Godhood, the God first seen in the Inward Path of Traditional Religion.

We can recapture the beauty created in our past history by redeeming both materialism and spiritualism in the Theoevolutionary Church. When the Great Spiritual Blockade of our evolution to Godhood is unblocked we can build churches and cathedrals again . We need a new Mass of Joy from the Outward Path to accompany the Mass of Sacrifice of the Inward Path.

Sacred Wealth and Profane Wealth

Economics is less dismal for me if I think in terms of profane wealth as the physical products produced by a people, and sacred wealth as the people, the sacred reproduction of the people.

Reality and practicality says that producing physical products to sell, the profane wealth of a nation, is necessary to maintain sacred wealth, the evolving people of a nation.

People who make things, the creators of profane wealth, support people who do not make things, like the government, the arts, religion etc, so the right balance must be found between the two. Greed can easily enter the picture.

I think a value added tax (VAT) might create the right balance, say, 18 percent on foreign imports. This could fairly provide for the necessary government services. A value-added tax is plugged on to every good and service inside the economy. Taxing consumption in our country could be adjusted for the very poor.  This could do away with income taxes.  This could bring manufacturing back to this country.

As to religion, it is the Church ideally which manages people as the sacred wealth of a nation. I don't see a big problem with monarchy or theocracy (or combining them as in the ancient Priest-King), but we live in an American Republic, and I do have a problem with trying to change things with revolution and radicalism. And dual sovereignty between the states and the government has advantages over the old ideas of power. The Founders did think that a Republic could include a hereditary aristocracy, as did the Roman republic, but they forbade states from erecting aristocratic republics.

The Church is independent from the government and from business, the Church is an important sacred guide but not a profane ruler. The Church, as defined by the Theoevolutionary Church, has its own leadership, chosen by merit, to help guide our evolution to Godhood, no matter what form of government it finds itself dwelling in.

A voluntary 15 percent contribution of ones profane wealth to the Church seems little enough if the Church manages the sacred wealth, the sacred evolution of the people to Godhood. Without being grounded in the long, sacred, reach of religion, even productive civilizations do not last long, as history has shown, time and again.   

The new religion of 9/11

It seems that we have a new secular religion in America, a new mass of sacrifice called 9/11.  Why?

Certainly the victims and heroes of 9/11 deserve our sympathy and gratitude, but who is promoting the new sensational religion of 9/11?

An alliance of neoconservatives and the media are promoting the new religion of 9/11. The neoconservatives want America to remain permanently at war with Islam, and the media agrees, although the media also sees better ratings in featuring the tragedy.

The old noble ethos was to move on from past tragedies, and not to remain in permanent resentment. Now we have a culture of resentment, sensation, and revenge, at least in the media. 

We would not be at war with Islam if we had not first invaded their territories. Whether the media or the neoconservatives like it or not, we need to bring our troops home. We can then defend ourselves from any real threats to our national security with power second to none.  Is it not the neoconservatives and the media who are now the threat to our national security? 

The Future Value of Our Dual Sovereignty and States Rights

The Civil War scared people away from speaking of States Rights. This is understandable given the great pain and suffering caused in that tragedy. But times are changing, science and demographics move ever forward, and this subject will be introduced again.

Much will depend on reemphasizing the power of the states, without renouncing the federal government. But perhaps the most important development will be in interpreting, or reinterpreting, the importance of group selection and states rights over abstract individualism, without losing individual rights. And no-one wants to bring slavery back.

In the past this was a legal argument regarding “compact theory,” the theory that states, not individuals, are the principles of the Constitution.. More recently it is the Tenth Amendment  people who affirm that: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Science has moved forward and developed a better understanding of human nature, for example, in the field of sociobiology, which has reaffirmed group selection as a natural law. This can help deepen and strengthen the states rights arguments.

The coming reality of demographic change (a reality few people like to look at) predicts increasing conflict between different people, races, and cultures in America, and in the world, therefore emphasizing the importance of small independent states to separate the combatants will help to avoid violence and even secession. This is not fun to contemplate but it is realism.

The United States has a great advantage in having a Constitution which provided dual sovereignty to the states and the federal government. But we will need to interpret the Constitution as giving far more power to the individual states. This way moderate conservatism can prevail over radicalism, and Ordered Evolution  can continue.

Supermateriality as the antidote to religio-philosophical abstract Being

If I take Caputo's view that St. Thomas thinks that Being is act, not phenomenon, not noumena, not substance or accident. Whereas Heidegger thinks Being is not act but is the quiet splendor of what shows itself, wholly removed from causality and actuality.Then I disagree with both these philosophers.

The act of Being (esse) does not bring forth the Being, the act resides within the Supermaterial Body of Being as the activating Spirit-Will (the will to Godhood), as it also does in material life. The Spirit-Will is not Being, It animates Being as It does lesser beings. The Spirit-Will doesn't “congeal” into Being, the Body of Being exists with the animating Spirit-Will within the Body of Being.

Being/Godhood is involved in making and causing, Being makes and causes--or more precisely transforms into the next stage of Godhood. Being does not exist beyond cause, cause is part of the active Spirit-Will within the Body of Being. Being seeks eternal representation like other life forms in the cosmos. We do not need a causeless Being other than to please a mathematical or philosophical preference for abstraction.

Supermateriality is revealed as the antidote to religious and philosophical abstract Being. Being/Godhood is supermaterial and therefore connected to the material world. Immaterial abstraction is not required in reality.

The mind is a faculty of the Body of Being, as the Spirit-Will is also part of the Body of Being. This means that truth is a faculty of mind existing in a body. “Absolute Truth” defines the Body/Mind/Soul/Spirit-Will of Being/Godhood, and not merely abstract thought in a mind free from a body.

The truth defines the material object, and Absolute Truth defines the Supreme Supermaterial Object or Objects (Godhood). Truth belongs together and included with Body-Mind-Soul-Spirit-Will in Being, and also in beings.  As above, so below.

The Chief Force of the World

The Spirit-Will, which is the Will To Godhood, is the chief force of the world, not the abstract power of Nietzsche's philosophy, not fear and not worldly acquisition. The Spirit-Will may sometimes uses these other forces, or work with them, as it does with the outside shaping force of evolution.

This means that life has a sacred meaning and a goal, the kosmos has a goal, which is Godhood, the sacred evolutionary goal of the Evolutionary Outward Path to Godhood.

The world is crucified in the Involutionary Inward Path to the God-Within, the Father-Within, the world is reborn in the Evolutionary Outward Path to Godhood in the kosmos. Both Paths are affirmed in the Twofold Path of the Theoevolutionary Church.

Alchemical Symbols

the Theoevolutionary Church (TC) does not seek secrecy with occult or alchemical symbols, but the following may help explain some of our differences with the old alchemy.

Esotericism tends to worship numbers and symbols rather than real objects which numbers and symbols can only represent. This is the real “transvaluation” that has taken place in religion and philosophy. Numbers are veils for real objects. The paper tiger is given power by believing in the paper tiger.

What alchemy is really about when it speaks of “changing metals,” is changing man from lower to higher to superman to Godhood, and not merely in the spiritual sense. Man does not play God in this, man allows the Spirit-Will, which activates life, to evolve to Godhood.

What better than evolution can discern how one essential part could be logically deduced from another thing? We can see how Godhood is defined as the accumulated parts evolved into a Godhood much greater than the parts.

The “alchemy of God” can describe evolution of the phenomenal world to Godhood. We can at this time dimly know the process, our “philosopher's stone” does not yet know the “supersubstance” which defines God, but the Spirit-Will which activates evolution seeks to take us there. It is the Spirit-Will, not the Demiurgos that is seen as the working cause,

The transmutation of man to Godhood is accomplished through evolution. This could be called the new alchemy, and it is the central concern of the Evolutionary Outward Path of the Theoevolutionary Church. The Involutionary Inward Path contains the ancient version of the alchemy which "transmuted" man to at least mirror the Golden Soul-Within, the Father-Within. the Theoevolutionary Church holistically studies and applies both in the Twofold Path.  Evolution applies the “elixir of the philosopher's stone,” which includes man himself evolving to Golden Godhood. The nature of the elixir is biometaphysical and supermaterial.

Far from disparaging science, the Theoevolutionary Church says that science could be seen as elevated to a “material alchemy,” to work in conjunction with Traditional “spiritual alchemy,” with both helping us to arrive at Godhood, through involution (spiritual alchemy) and evolution (material alchemy.) Science has, until now, enjoyed prestige and support for the pursuit of more mundane goals, much as the modern chemists have departed from the spiritual goals of the alchemists.

We maintain that the spirit is not at war with matter, because matter is the vehicle by which the Soul and Spirit evolve to Godhood. Therefore, the light is not at war with the dark, the Suryas and Asuyas can join together. We don't spear the material dragon, we ride the dragon to Godhood.

Corporate America could there produce for a fraction of what it cost to produce here. Then these same corporations could ship their foreign-made products back to the USA and pocket the difference in the cost of production. Corporate stock prices would soar, as would corporate salaries — and dividends, to make shareholders happy and supportive of a corporate policy of moving out of the USA.

Under globalization, America’s investor class could and did get rich by the abandonment of America’s working class.

America is in a terminal industrial decline because the interests of corporate America now clash directly with the interests of working America — and, indeed, with the national interest of the United States...”

Being Does Not Sit There Timeless

Being “sends itself” to life in the form of the material Spirit-Will, which activates all life to evolve to Godhood. Being does not sit there timeless, unconnected to the world while occasionally reaching out to effect the world. Being is a Supreme Supermaterial Object or Objects.

It is the material Spirit-Will which engineers or activates the world from within, while being shaped from without by evolution. Eternity may be in the inner core of the Spirit-Will.

Truth or Absolute Truth defines Being/Godhood but truth is not an object itself. Absolute Truth exists in the Mind of Godhood only. Absolute Truth also does not sit there, timeless, unconnected to Supreme Supermaterial Objects. Truth is always defining an object and not a living abstraction only.

Being is not defined merely as an “act” of Being, Being acts, acting does not sit there alone timeless.

The Spirit-Will is not Being/Godhood, it animates all beings and Being Itself, but is not Being. The Spirit-Will, the Soul, the Mind, the Body are all parts of the object that is living beings as well as parts  Supermaterial Being/Godhood, and these are not defined as Being individually.

Reason and science have problems measuring theses things. Reason and science tend to reject what they cannot measure. I think that these macro/micro conceptions of Being/Godhood and the cosmos will one day be measured, perhaps with a new technique of measurement. Meanwhile it is possible to overcome measure-bound things in a moment or two of intellectual intuition, when reason perhaps joins with intuition to arrive at something greater than the sum of its parts.

The Exoteric/Esoteric Religious Nexus

It seems likely that Indo-Europeans, or Proto-Indo-Europeans were the founders of Pharaonic Egypt. It is said that the root of rabbinic Judaism is Pharaonic Egypt and Babylon. Freemasonry is grounded in Kabbalic Judaism. The School of Traditionalism is based in Indo-European or Hyperborean pre-history. Christianity and Islam have roots in rabbinic Judaism and Zoroastrianism. 

The Revealed Religions all share the Involutionary Inward Path to the God-Within, or the Father-Within, by way of blocking the material desires. They are often bitter rivals, yet they share this basis for ecumenism, usually without knowing it. This means that these religions are at least religious cousins. 

The Theoevolutionary Church (TC) shares the God-Within with these Inward Path religions, but Evolutionary Christianity also affirms the Evolutionary Outward Path, which is the Path of evolution to Godhood in the Kosmos. This defines the Twofold Path of the Theoevolutionary Church, which stands alone in affirming material-supermaterial evolution as the true vehicle to Godhood.

The Evolutionary Outward Path is the real way to “repair the world” (Tikkun Olam). This is also the way to understand both fate and free-will. We are given by Godhood the raw material of life, and we are given the activation of the Spirit-Will, which are deterministic, but then our mission is to advance life in sacred evolution to Godhood, and to increasingly deny macro devolution.

The exoteric/esoteric separation is illegitimately developed when one group alone seeks power over the others. The Theoevolutionary Church is conducted openly, there is no need for secrecy when evolution is affirmed for all people, all races.  Different people, different races, usually do advance separately, in small states, but we insist in the equal right and agreement of all to advance and evolve to Godhood, which is seen as the sacred ground of all life.   

Changing our name

I am in the process of changing our name to “The Theoevolutionary Church” from Evolutionary Catholicism to more broadly and correctly define our mission.  This blog name remains the same.

The steering wheel of economics

Individual greed is usually the steering wheel of free-market capitalism, not innocent “self-interest.” Greed too often is selfish and ignores or even rejects community concerns.

Economic conservatism puts the community before selfish greed, while still allowing the free enterprise system, which has created economic miracles. Economic libertarianism  usually goes with free individual greed alone, which often ends up ignoring community concerns.

Concern for the community logically leads to local economic concerns and economic nationalism, whereas individual greed alone leads to global capitalism, which in reality respects no borders or communities.  We need fair trade with the world rather than free trade.

The wheel of economics has to be steered by community concerns and not by individual greed, without losing the free enterprise system.

It is the evolution of life to Godhood which is the ultimate engine of life, and not the social tool alone of economics. A variety of small, stable states and national economic order are required before evolution can successfully take place over time.

The Exoteric Synthesis of Esoteric Rivalries

There has been a battle in the West between exoteric and esoteric religions, with the Orthodox on one side and the Neo-Platonic-Gnostic-Hermetic-Kabbalistic-Rosicrucian-Masonic on the other side.

But these movements in reality have the same basic goal, the same spiritual end, which is opposed to the material world, even though they apply different methods to manipulate the material world in the process of seeking the spiritual world within. And the Eastern religions can also be classified in the same Inward Tradition.

One side does not represent the spirit and the other matter, as we are often led to believe, both sides affirm the God-Within, the spirit against matter. What they really are is rivals seeking the same Inward goal. This can be seen as the left and right hand path to the same spiritual goal. These rivalries reveal the natural, material and evolutionary nature of religion and philosophy, which have claimed to be beyond such things.

The Theoevolutionary Church (TC) stands away from these Inward Path rivalries.TC retains the same Inward Path but adds the Outward Path, which finally unblocks the Great Spiritual Blockade against evovling to Godhood. This is the Twofold Path.

EC champions the unsecretive, and open perfection of the elements, of man evolving to Godhood, affirming the regeneration of the evolving material-supermaterial world, all the way to Godhood. In EC this is done without rejecting either the Orthodox or the Neo-Platonic Inward Paths to the God Within.

The Twofold Path is a synthesis of the spiritual and material, religion and science. The longtime rivals, the Orthodox and Neo-Platonic, are included in the same Inward Path. Naturalism and the evolution of the material to the supermaterial to Godhood are included in the Outward Path.

Retaining positive evolutionary changes will often require periods of separation, variety and conservatism, affirmed in small independent states protected with light federalism. But let the talented, healthy, intelligent, beautiful and good rise to the Absolute of these virtues (which is Godhood) no matter what gender, class or race. Conservatism must also understand that we are progressively evolving beyond the various races of the human species, all the way to Godhood.

We do not believe in holding back sacred evolution. None of you shall see Godhood before evolving. We must find a way out of the Abulia of the religious rivalries, and the loss of the activating Spirit-Will, which plunges the earth into darkness.

How to accept Fate

Accepting Fate, does not mean stopping there and putting up with anything that life brings. Accepting Fate means accepting the raw material of life and existence and then doing something evolutionary and sacred with that raw material of evolution. Out duty is to help life evolve to Godhood, not merely accept life. Stopping at Fate is like stopping at truth and making a God of truth. It is the concrete object of life and it's evolution that concerns us more than the truth defining the object.

Reason and Intellectual Intuition

One applies reason to the world, the concrete, this has been reason's proportion. Intellectual intuition can apply to the Spirit-Will and to what we can see of Godhood by way of the Spirit-Will, which activates life to evolve to Godhood, shaped by the reasonable world of evolution.

The Spirit-Will is the Zenith of the Soul, just as the Soul (psyche) is the Zenith of the mind. However, the Spirit-Will is also of concrete supermateriality. Reason is in the mind and Soul, intellectual intuition is in the Spirit-Will at the Zenith of the Soul. These are terms for the sacred instincts residing in the body

Reason or super-reason will one day measure supermateriality. At this stage in our evolution it is possible to overcome the more time-bound understandings of reason when reason and intellectual intuition have a moment of revelation, when they join together. This is the ideal of religious metaphysics and philosophy. 

But we must take care not to continue to make Gods of concepts, principals and words. Godhood is a Supreme Concrete Supermaterial Object at the Zenith of material-supermaterial evolution, and Godhood is a concept, principle, or word only secondarily, in the supermaterial Mind of Godhood.
