Unreal names and concepts are worshiped, this is oddly called philosophical “realism.” This unreality has hypertrophied into an idolatry of definitions and names for God. God or Gods become a name or names only and not a real object.
In understanding Being, philosophical nominalism is primary, realism is secondary. There are only real objects and secondary definitions of those objects. “Universal” definitions and concepts are secondary to the real objects they try to define.
Godhood is an object, a living object, not a non-object, not a non-material thing, not a name only, not a text, not a blissful feeling only, not a spiritual concept only. Godhood is a real material or supermaterial object, or objects, which we evolve to become in the living world.
The Great Spiritual Blockade seen in the idolatry of names, and the blissful experience of the Inward God, have blocked our evolution to real Godhood. Should we therefore throw out religion for promoting this false idolatry of names and feelings? That would be too radical or revolutionary for practical human life.
The God of names, definitions and feelings, the Inward God, can be saved or revitalized when the feelings and names for the Father Within are understood as a symbolic-experience of the real Godhood reached by material and supermaterial evolution. This is how the Twofold Path synthesizes old and new religion.
