Putting the Inward Path in its proper place

The total dominance of the Involutionary Inward Path in the Revealed Religions has gone on long enough. This is the path that essentially develops the ability to kill the body through an act of will. Tantrism formulates a “science of death,” or the art of dying. Yogins, rabbis, and priests need to step back, blink a few times, and consider those words: “to kill the body through an act of will.” Nirvana and Heaven are found this way, that is true, but nirvana is “identification” with God, a no-body identification---this is not Godhood, even though it is more blissful than any sensual thing.

Even so, unlike the modern intellectuals, we do not seek to kill the Involutionary Inward Path, which would thereby kill the Revealed Religions. We seek to put the Inward Path in its proper place, at last, by bringing forward the Evolutionary Outward Path of material evolution to Godhood. This is the Godhood with which the Inward Path identifies but does not become. The Outward Path is the path from material and supermaterial evolution to superphenomenal and epiphenomenal Godhood.

This brings the Eastern renunciation of life together with the Western acceptance of life. This is at last a Western yoga ecumenically connected to the Eastern yoga, a revitalized conservatism rather than radical destruction.
