The Nature Of Our Decline
Here is a quote from the leader of one of the world's most ubiquitous music brands, selling 27 million albums, with major ads for companies like Apple, Pepsi, Target, Verizon, and even the president of the United States:
“ Always listen to the girls. Hook the 14-year-old fan. Why? Because I fell in love with music when I was 14, and you couldn't tell me anything—I thought I knew what was going down. I built my personality off of music listened to at 14.” (Will.I.Am, leader, Black Eyed Peas, Rolling Stone, April 29, 2010)
This may be a winning formula today for selling albums and getting rich, but it is also the formula for certain cultural collapse. Answering the question why these people have power over our children and our country will reveal the nature of our decline.
