The missing link affirming religion in philosophical naturalism
Darwinian theory accepts only random
variation and natural selection in defining evolution and lacks the Godhood
goal-motivation coming from the sacred inward activation of life. I
think this missing link is filled by the activation within life,
within every cell of
the body, demanding that metabolism and reproduction move toward the
ultimate success of evolving to Godhood. That is, evolution works by
way of changes originating internally
along
with
the action of random variation and natural selection from the outside
environment. And this inward activation, which I have called Tirips
or spirit-will, is entirely material.
In
the other missing link random variation and natural selection are
missing from religion. The philosophy of theological materialism
includes the sacred activation within evolutionary life, along
with
the randomness of outside evolution, with life moving toward ever
more complex life forms, or at least toward higher evolved forms and
intelligences (beauty, truth and goodness), all the way to Godhood,
but then continuing on to higher stages of Godhood, endlessly, with
starts, stops, sideways and backward-going along the the way... The death of religion and Godhood was premature, or immature.
