The Inauguration Party
Beyoncé
lip-syncing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the inauguration
ceremony for the President was just one of the cheapening events of
the weekend, also included were Jennifer Hudson loudly emoting an old
soul-tune while the president and his wife danced sexy and slow.
Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder and the gaily happy cast of 'Glee' also
did their thing. It seemed like a dress-up party for rich
adolescents.
Speaking of the utopian dreams of
adolescence, the president's inauguration speech was about virtually
nothing but big government doing for us things that we can never afford to do without economically wrecking the
country, with no mention of adult self-sufficiency or not depending
on the mommy-daddy state to do all things for us. Equality of opportunity, certainly, equality of results, a Marxian dream.
Will we ever again hear
European classical music or at least classical American jazz at one of these
events?
Maybe we should just let big government continue to cheapen and decline, as long as the individual states increase their power and independence---as the Constitution intended. Then they can party all they want in the White House and it won't much matter.
