The affirmation of the sacred in art

It has been said that a true artist tends to see unconnected things as harmonious. Modern artists seem to do less of this. Philosophers, scientists and others can also see harmony in unconnected things. This seems intuitive, which one may be born with.

I think what is needed is to take this talent for connecting unconnected things and apply it to sacred things, sacred values---then you can have great art, an affirmation of the sacred. But this must not become bogged down in didactic art, art needs to have what Kirk called “moral imagination.”
