The present task of conservatives

When Ron Paul attempts to educate the public on basic conservative principles (and educating the public is part of the job of a statesman) his opponents only grin at him condescendingly and then go back to making their usual concessions to prevailing opinion and popular programs. The Republican party today is not a party of principles, and the so-called neoconservatives are little more than a group who support world economic interests, and entanglements in the affairs of other nations. The task of conservatives today is to do as Ron Paul is doing, to educate the public about basic conservative principles, which they have forgotten. Attaining high office will necessarily have to come later. Here is a Ron Paul site that articulates the issues.
