Conservatism without biology is the doom of today's conservatism, as seen in Ross Douthat book “The Decadent Society: How We Became Victims of Our Own Success.” Douthat's answer to the decadence which has taken over the West is to suggest “a potentially flourishing Christian African continent migrating north to the older seat of Christendom, reminiscent of Evelyn Waugh’s short story “Out of Depth,” in which a future dystopian England is served and saved by African missionaries.” (John M. Conservatism without biology seems to have been caused by a combination of intellectual and moral cowardliness more than by ignorance; even mentioning the biological origin of social behavior in today's decadent “woke” world means almost certain professorial and social death. But in ignoring the biological origin of social behavior the West is dying and that is more important than the plight of any individual.

Human nature evolved to prefer kin and ethnic group because those traits were more successful in survival and reproduction for individuals and groups. Even altruism, being for others, was created as the preference for kin and ethnic group; altruism weakens as we move out toward universalism, which is the main reason why communism, socialism, and globalism don't work well and tend to use force to impose an unnatural universal altruism.

Evolutionary conservatism adds to and deepens basic paleoconservatism by affirming the biological origin of social behavior as defined mainly by the science of sociobiology. Human nature is biologically kin-centered and ethnic-centered, even xenophobic, as well as being genetically gender defined, age-graded, heterosexual, marriage-making, hierarchical, and religious-making, with group-selection and ethnic selection as the primary unit of successful selection. Alas, like the liberals and neoconservatives even the paleoconservatives block or conceal the ethnic-centered and xenophobic parts of human nature due it seems to universalist religious edicts.

Evolutionary conservatism believes that if real kin and ethnic-centered human nature was allowed to be what it is, it would naturally lead to regionalism, localism, general conservative values, eventually ethnostates, and finally an ethnopluralism of ethnostates for all groups, black, white, brown, yellow, or red, with each ethnostate protected from marauding imperialists, global businesses, supremacists, Marxists, etc., and defended by a defensive federalism. An ethnopluralism of ethnostates could be established legally in the United States with our constitutional separation of powers and states. Will we ever do it? Can we do it?
